| Welcome |
Welcome to Torgorm Cottage Website. The croft, which stretches down to the sea shore at the front of the house and the field immediately to the rear is entirely at your disposal to roam at will during your stay. The Talisker whisky distillery, which is open to visitors all year round, is situated about half a mile from Torgorm Cottage. There is a village shop situated approximately a quarter of a mile from the cottage. A little further on is the post office. It should be noted that shops in Carbost are closed on a Sunday. Supermarkets in Broadford and Portree are open. Cuillin from Glen Eynort
The Old Inn in the village is open for lunches and suppers, (darts, pool etc) - good value for your money for both drinks and food. There is another pub "Tigh Ailean" some five miles further on at Portnalong. The Sligachan Hotel is open from 8am - 12 midnight. It serves food all day and even B & B - Beer and Breakfast! The wet weather centre at this hotel has a childrens crèche, billiards, pool, table tennis and other games. You will find in the cottage a package of tourist literature detailing places of interest on the island, some of our favourites are outlined in this brochure. We would particularly recommend visiting Dunvegan Castle, the Quiraing and Croft Museum at the North of the island, the Clan Donald Centre and Elgol to the South and - all within 20 miles from the cottage - Glenbrittle, Eynort, Talisker beach and Fiscavaig village and beach. Those interested in activity holidays should consider visiting Whitewave – Skye’s Outdoor Centre at Kilmuir near to Uig. Heritage Centre on the left hand side as you enter Portree from the Sligachan direction is also worth a visit. The Quiraing
