Torgorm Cottage is a Carbost holiday home, conveniently located near a variety of local amenities to make your stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. Just a quarter of a mile away, you’ll find the village shop and Post Office in Carbost, open Monday to Friday from 10.00am to 5.00pm and on Saturdays from 10.00am to 3.00pm (closed on Sundays). When it comes to dining out, you’ll be spoilt for choice. The Old Inn is just a few minutes’ walk down the road and serves delicious lunches and suppers. For a change of scenery, head to “Taigh Ailean”, another pub located about five miles away in Portnalong. If you’re a fan of whisky, you won’t want to miss the Talisker Distillery in the village. Open from 10.00am to 5.00pm during the season, visitors can enjoy a guided tour and a dram of malt whisky.
The Sligachan Hotel is a short drive away and is open from 11am, serving food all day, including breakfast. Families with children will appreciate Seumas’ Bar, which has a children’s crèche, billiards, pool, table tennis, and other games. For a special dining experience, try the Loch Bay restaurant in Stein, while the harbour side chip shop in Portree is also highly recommended for a tasty takeaway meal.
