Just a quarter of a mile away, you’ll find the village shop and Post Office in Carbost, open Monday to Friday from 10.00am to 5.00pm and on Saturdays from 10.00am to 3.00pm (closed on Sundays). Daily newspapers are available after 10.30am. If you need to stock up on groceries, there are supermarkets in nearby Portree and Broadford.
When it comes to dining out, you’ll be spoilt for choice. The Old Inn is just a few minutes’ walk down the road and serves delicious lunches and suppers. For a change of scenery, head to “Taigh Ailean”, another pub located about five miles away in Portnalong. If you’re a fan of whisky, you won’t want to miss the Talisker Distillery in the village. Open from 10.00am to 5.00pm during the season, visitors can enjoy a guided tour and a dram of malt whisky.
